I frequent the Pita Pit on Dauphin Street for lunch. It’s quick. I like the food. The price is reasonable. I order the exact same thing every time. There are two very nice young ladies who work there and they know me…well, they kind of know me.
When I walk through the door, at least one of the two is always there. They greet me warmly. They immediately start filling my order, because they know what I want. We have a relationship. Those nice ladies don’t wear name tags and neither do I. We don’t know one another’s names. We don’t need to. They prepare my pita just the way I like it and I thank them kindly for it.
I trust them with my lunch needs. They trust me to honor their exceptional service with a tip and my sincere appreciation. “There you go again, Ron…what does this have to do with my family law issue?”
There are more than a few advantages to being a client of McBay Law. That being said, I believe one of the most important is that I develop relationships with clients. My clients have my mobile number. They can text me. In fact, texting me is probably the easiest way to get me to respond.
From time to time, I get clients who have, for whatever reason, parted ways with another attorney. Many are skittish at first because they are accustomed to paying to communicate with their old attorney. Over time, once they accept the idea that our attorney-client relationship is not going to cost them extra, the anxiety over litigation tends to dissipate dramatically.
If you have questions about trusting your attorney, here’s a link to another good article:
I think about this every time I see the Liberty Mutual commercial in which the narrator describes the scenario where the other insurance company wants to pay the insured 75% of the value of the damaged vehicle. “The better question is why do you have that insurance company?”
