John M. Teague is a lifelong resident of Mobile, having graduated from Murphy High School in 1995 and the University of Mobile in 1999, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Upon graduation, he attended law school at Loyola University New Orleans.
After graduating from Loyola in 2003, John returned to Alabama and began practicing law full-time on the Eastern Shore, handling numerous cases involving
real estate, estate planning, setting up corporate and business entities, collection of debts, city and municipal ordinances and appeals to the Court of Civil Appeals of Alabama and the Supreme Court of Alabama. John made the move to Mobile in October 2005 to join a large Mobile-based law firm where he handled hundreds of insurance defense cases involving automobile accidents, construction disputes, contract disputes, real estate sale disputes, real property disputes, and product liability. He also continued performing appellate work and added landlord/tenant and probate cases to his practice areas.
John continued to expand his practice areas, including a wide range of domestic relations and family law matters. He is passionate about solutions that center around the health and well-being of any child involved in a case. John knows from experience what it’s like to go through the stress of court as a client. His approach includes keeping the client informed at all times and being available for them when they need him.
John is admitted to practice in both Alabama and Mississippi. He is a past member of the Mobile Young Lawyers Executive Committee and current member of the Mississippi Bar, the Mobile Bar Association’s Domestic Relations Practice Committee, the Alabama State Bar’s Family Law Section, the Baldwin County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also the President of Lifelines Counseling’s Board of Directors, a member of the Board of Directors for Coastal Collaborative Coalition and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Alabama. Mr. Teague is a past member of the Mobile Jaycees and the Mobile Azalea Trail’s Board of Directors.
When he isn’t practicing law, Mr. Teague enjoys spending time with his wife, Shellie, and their four children, Carson, Knox, Josie and Sadie Byrd.
Ron is a 1993 graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a degree in Political Science with minors in English and Religion. He went on to earn a Master of Public Administration from the University of South Alabama in 1996. Finally, Ron completed his academic legal training at the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, in 2001, where he was awarded the Juris Doctor degree.
Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2001, Ron went to work for Hall, Booth, Smith & Slover, P.C., in Atlanta and, subsequently in the firm’s Tifton, Georgia office. While at HBSS, P.C., Ron honed his litigation skills, defending medical malpractice and workers compensation claims. Along the way, Ron recognized un-met legal needs in his community and began taking on divorce clients and criminal defendants. Over time, it became clear that helping individuals through adversity was a calling Ron could not ignore.
Having engaged in military service since he first enlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard in 1985, Ron has answered the Nation’s call repeatedly since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He deployed to Afghanistan with the 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) to Bagram, Afghanistan in 2002-2003. Ron commanded the 128th Medical Company (Ground Ambulance) in Baghdad, Iraq during 2004-2005. Most recently, he deployed with the 226th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade and served as the Command Judge Advocate for the Kabul Base Cluster in Kabul, Afghanistan from May, 2013 to January, 2014. Ron currently holds the rank: Lieutenant Colonel.
Ron and his wife, Julianne, made the decision to make Mobile their home in 2010, while Ron was assigned to work at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 2011. Coming off this last deployment, Ron recognized the opportunity to live out a dream of earning a living by helping people in need. He made the decision to form The Law Offices of Teague and McBay.
Ron has three children: William, Emile, and Molly. He knows the pain of divorce and the angst of a costly custody dispute. He knows how it feels to be overwhelmed by having to start over. When Ron advises clients, that advice is based on the law, his training and his experience as a husband and father. He understands that you are suffering. Suffer less. Call Ron.
