The Difference

As the founder of McBay Law, LLC, I wanted to do things differently. Having experienced the difficulties of divorce as a participant and as an attorney representing my clients, I know how hard a divorce can be. As a result, I pride myself on providing my clients with three extremely important advantages throughout their family law cases: transparency in my fee structure, flexibility in the way we work together, and access to the knowledge you need about your case, whenever you need it.

Transparency in our legal fee structure

When you are facing the personal and emotional uncertainty of a divorce or other family law issue, the last thing you need to worry about is surprise attorney’s fees. To eliminate this uncertainty, I offer each of my clients the opportunity to hire me on a flat fee commitment. That means that you will know exactly how much it will cost you to hire me from the moment we start working together. There won’t be any surprise attorney’s fees.

Of course, if you would prefer to have your case handled on a traditional hourly fee basis with a retainer, I can certainly do that as well. The choice is yours!

Flexibility in the way we work together

As if contemplating a divorce or addressing another family law issue wasn’t stressful enough, having to gather documents and transport them to your attorney’s office between the hours of 9am and 5pm can be taxing. I understand this and I am happy to come to you to eliminate any additional stress of taking time off work or traveling to my office. Furthermore, I am willing to meet with you outside of traditional business hours because I know that you have other commitments including work, your personal life, and your family life to which to attend. I am sincerely committed to making our working relationship as simple and streamlined as possible.

With advances in technology, the practice of law has changed. Using those advances to your benefit, I maintain an online client portal (MyCase) where you can check the status of your case any time, day or night. When you hire me to handle your family law case you will be given unique login instructions that will allow you access to the secure portal from anywhere you have an Internet connection. There is no need for you to wait for a call or email to know what’s going on in your case.


I also believe in being calm, focused, and determined for my clients. Whether you are considering ending your marriage, addressing a custody dispute, or responding to paternity questions, I am here to help. There is no reason to go through this experience alone.
